Most vehicles can’t talk to their drivers, but they have another means of communicating. Those warning lights on the dashboard, illuminated in amber, red or blue, depending on your make and model, let the driver know everything’s operating as it should, or when something’s wrong.
Our expertly trained auto technicians at Al's One Stop Auto have the diagnostic equipment to get the source of the trouble and make the necessary repairs or adjustments to get you back on the road safely. Ignoring these warnings can wind up costing you in the long run, not to mention putting you and your passengers in danger.
Each time a vehicle starts up, a series of lights flash quickly on the dashboard that signify that all systems are operating properly. If any of those lights don’t illuminate, or light up and stay on, it’s warning you of a problem.
Here are a few of the warnings that require the driver’s attention:
Check engine: This can indicate something serious is wrong with the motor, but it could also be something as minor as a loose wire. Should this light go on but the vehicle is operating normally, bring it in to us for testing as soon as you can. But if the vehicle is running unpredictably or making noises, pull over and call for a tow.
Oil pressure: This may indicate the oil level is too low, an oil leak, or worn parts. Check the oil level as soon as possible.
Battery: If this comes on, even if the vehicle starts up normally, it could indicate a weakness in the battery or electrical system.
Tire pressure: This could mean an under- or over-inflated tire or tires, or a leaking tire. We’ll regulate the pressure on each tire and check for damage.
